The Coast Guard springs into action rescuing a man who was suffering from a diabetic shock just after 7 o'clock this morning.
The man was taken into safety about 36 miles southeast of New River Inlet which is near Jacksonville.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted a diabetic man to safety from a fishing boat 36 miles southeast of New River Inlet, near Jacksonville, Saturday morning.
The master of the fishing boat Enterprise called Coast Guard Sector North Carolina watchstanders at 5:29 a.m. and reported that a diabetic man aboard was suffering from diabetic shock. The watchstanders consulted a Coast Guard physician and launched an MH-60J Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C.
The helicopter crew hoisted the man to safety at 7:14 a.m. and took him to Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, N.C.
The man is reported to be in stable condition.
