A local organization in that helps the needy is treading to stay above water.
Onslow Community Ministries runs a shelter, soup kitchen and dental clinic in Jacksonville. The organization is struggling due to $40,000 less in donations this year.
Starting June 1st, they will be forced to reduce shelter services, staff will take paycuts and furlough days, and soup kitchen routes will be slashed in half. The changes will be in effect for 90 days.
Onslow Community Ministries will gladly accept your donations. They are located at 600 Court street in Jacksonville.
