By air and by sea more than 2,200 Marines and Sailors from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit are returning to Camp Lejeune this week.
Tuesday, troops unloaded off helicopters and were met by their families who have been anxiously awaiting their arrival since they deployed seven months ago.
The 26th MEU was involved in a variety of missions while deployed. Some troops were sent to Iraq, others were sent to Afghanistan, and some where undergoing operations off the coast of Somalia.
Marines will the 26th MEU will continue to arrive home by ship and by air throughout the week.
