Person Of Interest Sought In Marine's Killing

HIGHLAND, Calif.—Authorities investigating the fatal stabbing of a Marine on leave from a seven month tour in Iraq are trying to find a 19-year-old man who was involved in a fight that led to the attack.

Marcus Deshon Perry is not a suspect in the death of Anthony Vargas, but San Bernardino County sheriff's detectives say they want to question him about the March 14 melee.

An 18-year-old man allegedly involved in the fight has been charged with stabbing Vargas to death. The 20-year-old Marine, who was stationed at Camp Lejeune, died several blocks from his home.

He was scheduled to head to Afghanistan next month.
