A suspect wanted in a hit and run in Onslow County last Friday that injured a mother and her young son has now been arrested.
Onslow County deputies say they arrested David O'Brien for the early morning crash last Friday on Highway 17 in Maysville about 6:30 a.m. Troopers say they believe O'Brien spent the night with friends outside of Jacksonville, and when a woman went to leave she found her van gone, along with O'Brien. Troopers say O'Brien hit an oncoming car, and the woman in the other vehicle and her four year old son were sent to Carolina East Medical Center. Witnesses say they saw O'Brien running away. He was in jail Friday August 10th under an $11,000 bond.
