Calendar Says Fall, But Still Feels Like Summer

The autumn season officially started Wednesday and many people we spoke to in the East find it hard to believe. The sun is still shining and most plants are still green.

People are trying to stay cool by going to the pool or hitting the beach. Some even said they've opted to stay inside in the air conditioning.

The National Weather Service says this summer was the second warmest on record globally after 1998, and last month was the third warmest August ever on record.

Theodore Williams in Jacksonville was trying to find the good in it Friday.
"Its suppose to be fall but you really can't tell that its fall its pretty warm out here, pretty humid, pretty hot good fishing weather though."

In Seattle, it rains from October to almost mid May. People complain, but it doesn't go away. In fact, sometimes it does it even more! It was hot here from May to the present. A fact of life down here that probably won't change either. I look at the weather like I look at taxes; a pain in the butt, a bitter pill to swallow and it doesn't go away, either.

Not to worry Fall and Winter will come soon enough with those high electric bills trying to stay warm. Only a fool would ascertain that since man created the calendar and deemed Summer to end on one day and Fall to begin on another that somehow the Earth that has been in constant flux for billions of years is supposed to go along with man's decision to bring down the temperature on a particular day of his choosing. Silly puny humans, some delude themselves in thinking that they can influence weather patterns to they're liking.

Sorry weather people, Mother Nature doesn't work on your schedule. Just because someone says "It is 'officially' autumn" that means nothing. The seasons will change when the weather patterns dictate it. But, We as a planet are controlling weather with our global warming. So just enjoy or hate the weather depending on your preference until Mother Nature says "It is officially autumn",by turning the weather cold.
