The autumn season officially started Wednesday and many people we spoke to in the East find it hard to believe. The sun is still shining and most plants are still green.
People are trying to stay cool by going to the pool or hitting the beach. Some even said they've opted to stay inside in the air conditioning.
The National Weather Service says this summer was the second warmest on record globally after 1998, and last month was the third warmest August ever on record.
Theodore Williams in Jacksonville was trying to find the good in it Friday.
"Its suppose to be fall but you really can't tell that its fall its pretty warm out here, pretty humid, pretty hot good fishing weather though."
