It is election day for some municipalities in the East.
Residents in Atlantic Beach, Sharpsburg and Elizabeth City will head to the polls Tuesday for the primary elections.
Atlantic Beach's mayor Trace Cooper is running unopposed, while there are seven people campaigning for five town commissioner seats.
Sharpsburg has five candidates vying for three town commissioner seats.
Elizabeth City's ballot will have incumbent mayor Roger McLean trying to reclaim his seat against Joe Peel. There are four people running for the two First Ward Council seats and five for the two Third Ward Seats.
