The management company that owns Washington County Hospital in Plymouth has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to Washington County Hospital CEO Harley Smith, the company that owns the hospital, Hospital Management Consulting LLC out of Kansas City, Missouri, has filed for bankruptcy.
Smith referred any further questions to HMC's attorney. WITN placed a call to that lawyer, but have not yet received a call back.
Smith says he does not expect the bankruptcy to affect hospital staff or patients.
Hospital Management Consulting LLC owns 12 hospitals including a hospital in Yadkinville, North Carolina.
