Unemployment numbers for North Carolina counties are out today and they don't look good.
The number of unemployed workers in January increased in 95 counties, decreased in just three counties and stayed the same in two.
Here in Eastern Carolina, Dare County has the most unemployed at 20.2%, a 4.5% jump from December. Hyde County follows at 17.1%, Edgecombe County is next at 16%, then Washington at 13.7% and Tyrrell at 13.5%.
The state says seasonal losses in retail as well as the leisure and hospitality sector contributed to gains in the unemployment rates.
