Woman Killed, Boyfriend Injured In Onslow County Accident
A woman is dead and her boyfriend seriously injured after an accident early Sunday morning right in front of their home in Onslow County.
Troopers say 40-year-old Michael Kincaid of Jacksonville was driving on Foy Lockamy Road around 1:53 a.m. when he ran off the road to the right, over corrected, then ran off the road to the left. His vehicle then struck mailboxes and a sign and went into a ditch.
The vehicle rolled over and troopers say both Kincaid and his girlfriend, 41-year-old Terri Padgett, were ejected from the vehicle.
Troopers say they were not wearing seat belts. Padgett was pronounced dead at the scene. Kincaid was seriously injured and is now in the hospital.
Troopers say Kincaid was impaired at the time and they believe alcohol and drugs were involved.
Charges are pending.
