The picture you see if of Jamaire Brown. The two-year-old was trapped in a house fire in Elizabeth City Saturday. The boy's great-grandmother and two siblings escaped.
The fire has been ruled an accident.
A 2-year-old boy has died after his home in Elizabeth City caught fire.
Authorities told The Daily Advance of Elizabeth City that the blaze at the one-story wooden home was reported around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Investigators say an adult and two children made it out of the home, but the boy was left behind.
A man repeatedly tried to get back in the home, but police on the scene held him back. The boy's body was found after firefighters put out the blaze.
The child's name has not been released, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
