The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says three people are currently behind bars charged in the shooting death of Brandon Peterson, 29.
Lawmen found Peterson shot in his hometown of Weldon last weekend. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Lawmen arrested Kevin Baxton, 26, of East Orange, New Jersey, and Adrianne Daniel, 26, of Roanoke Rapids. Both are charged with murder as a result of the shooting investigation. Daniel is also charged with possessing a stolen television that was taken during a breaking and entering of a residence in Roanoke Rapids. Both are being held without bond, and have been given an Oct. 12 court date.
A third suspect, Daniel Staime, 22, of Westbury, N.Y., is currently in custody in New York. He is also being held without bond for the murder.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office has filed a murder warrant for the arrest of Herman Edwards, 29, of Roanoke Rapids, also wanted in the shooting death. Edwards is considered armed and dangerous.
The Sheriff's Office asks that if anyone has any information on Edwards's whereabouts, to call Crime Stoppers at (252) 583-4444.
A man was shot and killed Sunday night in Halifax County and deputies are still looking for a suspect.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old Brandon Peterson of Weldon was shot on the 1000 block of Maple Street about 11:45 pm. Deputies say Peterson died at the hospital.
Detectives released descriptions of two suspects: The first suspect is described as a black man 20-21 years old, 5'10: To 5'11" with a dark complexion, wearing a dark or rust color Under Armour fleece coat with jeans. The second suspect appeared to be 17-18 years old, 5'6' to 5'8" with a medium complexion, wearing what resembled a UNC Tar Heel colored fleece. The two suspects left on foot.
