Scotland Neck Police Investigating Suspicious Death

A death investigation is underway after a body was found in Scotland Neck Sunday. Officers are calling the death suspicious.

According to police they got a call around 5 p.m. that a body was found near the front gate of the AirBoss Facility in Scotland Neck. When officers arrived they found a man laying on the road near Grace Street and AirBoss Pkwy with a weapon laying next to him. Police say the man had a single gunshot wound, but they are not saying where on his body at the time.

This was a respectful individual that did not deserve to be done that way. We need more people like him in the world. My prayers are with the family.

R.I.P. Ben, Gone but never forgotten. You had so much potential. The last time I saw you we were in Church together. Sorry it had to end this way. No man deserves to be shot down like a dog and left to die like that. May GOD have mercy on your soul.

Latoya, I am sorry for your families lost...I really didn't know Ben but I met his brother on several occasions and if he was anything like him he was a good guy...I know that your heart is heavy and it feels as if the pain may never end but little sis believe me when I say BEN is in a better place...he is now one of your guardian angels...he will be watching over you and the rest of your family until you all meet again....mourn for him yes but also remember to rejoice in his memory and he shall forever live on in your mind, heart and soul!!!
