A man who deputies say robbed and then seriously beat a Tyrrell County man this summer has been caught in Georgia.
Jason Lucas was wanted for the July 24th robbery and beating on Soundside Road in Columbia. Deputies say they found 58-year-old Jimmy Belangia lying on the living room floor. The man was first taken to Washington County Hospital and then to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
The 47-year-old Lucas was nabbed in Spalding County, Georgia and is in jail, awaiting his return to Tyrrell County to face charges of assault inflicting serious injury, common law robbery, and larceny of a firearm.
