Elizabeth City police arrested Michael Respass for Sunday's armed robbery of the Taco Bell on West Ehringhaus Street.
The robbery happened about 8:35 p.m. with the gunman getting more than $1,300 in cash from the restaurant.
Police say when they arrested Respass he had a black coat containing the cash and a loaded .380 automatic handgun equipped with laser sights.
The Elizabeth City man was jailed on a $20,000 bond and has his first appearance Tuesday morning.
