Plymouth Man Gets 8 Years On Child Porn Charges

A Plymouth man will spend the next eight years in federal prison after his sentencing on child porn charges in Greenville.

Johnnie Davenport will also be on a life term of supervised release, have to register as a sex offender and be fined $4,000.

A federal grand jury indicted the 42-year-old man in May, and then in August he pled guilty to receiving child pornography.

The feds say Davenport was exchanging child porn via Internet chat networks from Google and Yahoo. They say the man was also using Skype to transport porn to others overseas.

A July 2010 search of the man's Plymouth home found 136 child porn images.

WE need to lock people up for life that commit crimes against children. 8 years is not long enough. They get out and do the same thing.Hang em high.

I'm so glad he will be off the streets and that we all got to see his picture and know who he is and what he did. I personally knew this man and would not have suspected something like this from him. It saddens me that people like this are out there in this world and you just don't know who to trust.

It seems everyday you read or hear of the scumbags that pray on our children. I just want to comment that it was about time we see their faces plastered on the news and in print. We need to know who lives among us. I totally support our law enforcement in their endeavors to get and keep these creeps off the street and behind bars. Let's round them all up and throw away the keys.

Their faces should be posted in public at every store, school, court house in their communities. Run them all to a place where they can all live together and then let the terrorists take aim.
