Authorities say a father shot his his neighbor following an argument with his stepson.
Robert Carey, 68-years-old of Roanoke Rapids, is charged with attempted first degree murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Authorities say Carey got into an argument with his stepson who then went to a neighbor's house. They say Carey shot the neighbor when he opened the door.
The victim was treated and released at the hospital.
Carey is under $250,000 bond.
