Kayaker Dies In Currituck Sound

A Pennsylvania man kayaking with his grandson in the Currituck Sound died Monday, according to the Virginian Pilot.

Officials are investigating the death of Raymond Stewart, 53, of Freeport. The water where Stewart was boating was about three feet deep, and he was wearing a life jacket. A report from the medical examiner will determine if medical conditions played a role in the death.

Stewart's 12-year-old grandson safely swam to shore.
