Hurricane Irene Agricultural Recovery Meetings Scheduled

Farmers devastated by Hurricane Irene have another opportunity to meet with state and federal officials.

David Smith, Chief Deputy Commissioner, NC Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services and Aaron Martin, state director, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency will all be on hand. Representatives from the N.C. Farm Bureau also will be there.

There will be a meeting Tuesday in Rocky Mount at the Edgecombe County Cooperative Extension Services Livestock Arena. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 6 - 8 p.m.

Another meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 20 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Hertford County Cooperative Extension Office in Winton.
