A Florida man is in our state right now walking to Washington D.C.
Eddy Rodriguez says he's walking the eastern seaboard simply for a laugh.
We caught up with him in Plymouth, Washington County Tuesday morning. At each stop he pulls out kangaroo exercise shoes and tries to catch people's attention.
After a cerebral hemorrhage, and then dealing with the death of his daughter, Rodriguez says it's now his mission to make people smile. "I found out what life is truly about. It's not about the things that we have. It's about who we are and how we can help others. And that made me want to go out and walk across America and say, you know what America? Life is beautiful."
The self proclaimed happiness coach says this North Carolina heat isn't getting him down. He says it gives him even more reason to try to get a smile out of people out working in the heat.
