A man from the town of Halifax is facing charges of sex crimes against a child.
Clifton Nethery II, 52, is charged with second degree sexual offense and indecent liberties with a child.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a report of a sex crime against a 13 year old on Sunday. Their investigation resulted in the arrest of Nethery.
Officials are not saying much about Nethery's relationship to the alleged victim, saying only he was "familiar with the child."
Nethery was jailed under a $125,000 bond.
