A man accused of committing multiple break-ins in Halifax and Warren counties has been arrested after a month on the run.
Halifax County Police pulled over 20-year-old Antonio Burchette in Litteton Monday. Lawmen say he then fled into the woods only to be tracked down by a K-9. The sheriff's office says they have been tracking Burchette since November for break-ins, but believed he had left North Carolina and was hiding out in Virginia.
The search resumed Monday when deputies found out Burchette was back in town. He is charged with 15 counts of breaking and entering in Halifax County, and faces more charges in Warren County as well.
