Father Says Deadly Crash Bringing Community Together

A father says the untimely death of his son is helping bring his small community together.

Daneil McClees of Columbia, Tyrrell County, died Saturday when Highway Patrol says the 29-year-old sped through a stop sign, ran off the road into a wheat field, and his car burst into flames in Beaufort County.

McClees' father says the outpouring of support has been overwhelming with friends of those involved in the crash creating a memorial and holding candlelight vigils.

Bobby Jay Moore, 23-years-old, was also killed. Two others were injured and remain in the hospital, though they're expected to recover.

Troopers say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

McClees' was Wednesday night in Columbia.
