Deputy Responding To Call Crashes In Ditch

Officials say a Hyde County deputy responding to a burglary alarm was in an accident Sunday.

According to the Highway Patrol, it happened on Highway 264 near the Walter B. Jones bridge in the Ponzer community.

Troopers say the deputy was responding to a call when he went around a curve, lost control of his vehicle and went into a ditch.

It was raining at the time of the accident.

The deputy was not injured. The car was damaged.
