Dare Wildfire Smoke Drifting To D.C.

Smoke from the Pains Bay wildfire in Dare County is expected to drift all the way to Washington D.C.

Officials say the drift smoke is modeled to reach the nation's capital, Baltimore, MD, and Wilmington, DE Friday into Saturday morning.

Here in Eastern Carolina the smoke will continue to impact Roanoke Island and low visibility is expected for Saturday morning. Smoke will be on highways 264 & 64 reducing visibility there as well.

    Rain? What rain?? Im down here working on the fire and we haven't seen measurable rain in 20 days...

      Thank you for your work. Is there anything individuals, private citizens can do for y'all, like bring sandwiches somewhere for when you take a break, or something?

    The smoke is strong, but it will never overpower the stench of all the BS that comes from D.C.
