Chief Deputy's Departure Leaves Unanswered Questions

A veteran high ranking lawmen has left his job in Washington County, and no one is saying much about it.

Brian Hardison was chief deputy for the Washington County Sheriff's Office until Thursday. We don't know if Hardison left the Sheriff's Office on his own or was fired. WITN has left numerous phone messages with Sheriff James Ross since Thursday afternoon, but none of those have been returned.

County Manager David Peoples confirms that Hardison no longer works for the Sheriff's Office, but says he doesn't know the circumstances behind his departure.

I wish Jason would run for sheriff because he was a fine officer, one person I could trust.

Maybe now he will see how it feels like to struggle to pay bills and make ends meet while attempting to find another job. He brought this on himself. A good phrase to live by, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Currently Creswell is patrolled at all times of the day and night. It is not a fair statement to say that it is never patrolled. There are a few people making post that are trying to make people believe that. Point being that as I post this there are only 243 post and half are good and half are naegative. So out of the 12,000 or so people that live in Wash. County, just a few think that Creswell is being unfairly treated. Its simple not true. Do people ever think that at night when they are in bed asleep that there is the lone deputy riding by your house at 1, 2, 3, 4am? True tickets are written in Creswell but rarely by a deputy. The deputies like Creswell and they respect the people there. Several have family and friends in the area so what makes people think that the deputies dont go there. No deputy that I know wants anything to occur there or in any other part of the county. If there was a magic wand to stop crime in our county then they would use it. Quit trashing the deputies because you dont like Hardison or Ross and have a personal vendetta against those two. The deputies dont deserve it.

You must not live in creswell because if you did you sure would not see deputies patrolling the area especially when the businesses and schools are closing.

Get your facts straight bud. Do you even live in the Creswell community? Probably not because if so you would feel differently.
