Bertie County Suspects Moved To Pitt County Jail

We're working to get more information today on why three crime suspects from Bertie County were moved from one county jail to another.

Terrin Hill, 20, of Windsor, Thomas Navarro, 18, of Lewiston-Woodville and Ashley Sheppard, 20, of Windsor each face several charges in Pitt County. Jail officials say they were transferred to the jail in Greenville from the jail in Pasquotank County Wednesday.

The charges listed against Hill at the Pitt County Detention Center include common law robbery, obtaining property by false pretense, larceny, financial card theft, assault on a female, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hill's bond was at $51,000.

The charges listed against Navarro at the Pitt County Detention Center include common law robbery, obtaining property by false pretense, larceny, financial card theft, assault on a female, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and assault with a deadly weapon on a government official. His bond was set at $36,000.

The charges listed against Sheppard at the Pitt County Detention Center include common law robbery, obtaining property by false pretense, larceny, financial card theft, possession of controlled substance, child abuse, larceny of motor fuel, assault and battery and communicating threats. Her bond was set at $44,000.

A handful of the charges against each of the suspects carried over from Pasquotank County, but the majority are new charges filed in Pitt County.
