Warrant Issued For Man Accused Of Robbing Edenton Bank, 9 Others

The FBI says it has identified a man suspected of robbing at least 10 banks in Tennessee, the Carolinas and Kentucky, including one bank in Eastern N.C.

Chad Schaffner was named as a suspect in the string of robberies which include last month's holdup of the Southern Bank at 101 W. Queen Street in Edenton.

The FBI says Schaffner may be driving a black GMC pickup with Tennessee plates or a red Chevrolet pickup with South Carolina tags.

They say he should be considered armed an dangerous.

The FBI credits his identification to tips received from an electronic billboard campaign that's been running for about a week across the South.
