Lawrenceville, VA is getting them too. the pens don't work cause they appear to be bleached ones copied to look like 10' or 20's. They look really real but the little yellow numbers are missing. Looking at the back of the bills, anc checking for the amount strip really carefully is the only way the average person can tell.

Pitt County is seeing a lot of counterfeit 10's and 20's too. Of course, the story didnt say that, but we have done 20 counterfeit note reports to the feds in the past 3 weeks. Everyone needs to know what to look for and not just rely on those stupid pens.

Modern conterfieters are the pinacle of "criminal-genius". Really. Have you ever looked at a contemporary US bill. They're virtually impossible to perfectly coounterfeit. There are so many anti-counterfeiting measures incorpaorated into them. Counterfeiters probably print them then sell them to some stupid, greedy doofus on the street. Somebody gets their money off the top and they get passed around but not for long.
