Deputy's Wife Helps Nab Break-In Suspect

A half dozen home break-ins were solved, deputies say, after the wife of a deputy helped crack the case.

Halifax County deputies say Issac White, Jessi Pugh and King Whitaker are charged with various crimes, including breaking and entering, conspiracy and larceny.

Deputies say the wife of a sheriff's department lieutenant on Friday passed a home on Ringwood Road and noticed a suspicious man near the home. Knowing there had been some break-ins at the home before, she called her husband who was off duty at the time.

Deputies set up a peremeter, while a vehicle that had already left the area was followed by another citizen. White and Pugh were arrested near the home, while Whitaker was arrested in the car.

Five other break-ins were cleared, according to deputies, with the arrest of the three.

I wish more people would pay attention to things like this. If more people did this then crime would be reduced.
