DOT Looking For Input On Connector Project

The NC DOT is working on designing the NC 32 Connector Project in Washington County. The proposed connector would start in Skinnersville at US 64 and end at the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94 in Washington County.

Officials are mulling over a couple of options of how to do this.

Alternative 1 would begin at the Tysons Farm interchange at U.S. 64 and Beasley Rd., then follow Beasley Rd. for about 4,500 feet before continuing north on a new location to the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94.

Alternative 2 would begin at the Tysons Farm interchange and continue north onto Holly Neck Rd. At the intersection of Holly Neck Rd. and NC 32, Alternative 2 would follow NC 32 east to the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94.

A public hearing will be held from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Windows on the World Tech Center in Roper on June 8. Citizens are invited to drop in and speak individually with NCDOT officials, as well as review preliminary project plans in an informal setting.

this project needs to be finished.I can't understand why it wasn't done with the rest of the exits.find where the new 64 and the old pea-ridge Y are, draw a line and start building.Going to Creswell and back several miles is a design flaw.Must have been drawn up on a Friday.Approved on Monday.

I agree with Jean they should make more less a straight shot from the pea-ridge Y to 64 by-pass. It would cost less and save time and money, the other first alternative may be close to doing that but the second just seems pointless. They should have done that when they built the road and the equipment was already here working.

With all the budget cuts that the state is involved with why even bother with this useless project in the middle of nowhere?

Instead of changing whats already there, DOT should look into making an exit in the Pea Ridge/Skinnersville area. This would be more beneficial to everyone.

Why are they bothering with all this eye wash. They will do whatever it is they want to anyway. Why the charade - except to make work for people at the DOT. Do you suppose they really think that we are so dumb that we will believe they really care what we think??
