The NC DOT is working on designing the NC 32 Connector Project in Washington County. The proposed connector would start in Skinnersville at US 64 and end at the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94 in Washington County.
Officials are mulling over a couple of options of how to do this.
Alternative 1 would begin at the Tysons Farm interchange at U.S. 64 and Beasley Rd., then follow Beasley Rd. for about 4,500 feet before continuing north on a new location to the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94.
Alternative 2 would begin at the Tysons Farm interchange and continue north onto Holly Neck Rd. At the intersection of Holly Neck Rd. and NC 32, Alternative 2 would follow NC 32 east to the intersection of NC 32 and NC 94.
A public hearing will be held from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Windows on the World Tech Center in Roper on June 8. Citizens are invited to drop in and speak individually with NCDOT officials, as well as review preliminary project plans in an informal setting.
