Governor Perdue appointed Melissa Pelfrey of Halifax to serve as the district attorney in Halifax County.
Pelfrey fills the vacancy created by the retirement of William Graham.
Pelfrey worked as an assistant D.A. in Halifax County for ten years before leaving to start her own practice two years ago.
