Reward Offered For Escapee Who May Be In Eastern Carolina

The U.S. Marshal Service is offering a reward for a Virginia jail escapee with ties to Chowan County.

Larry Dodson, Jr. escaped from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg, Virginia last Tuesday. He escaped from that jail by tying bed sheets together and scaling down a 100 foot wall.

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a stolen car from Lynchburg that was found abandoned in Bertie County on Saturday and whether Dodson was driving the car.

Was the car in Bertie County in the Roanoke river part of the county? If Dodson was smart, he would hide in a family member's home or go to Hyde County where you just about have no law there. He must have got tired of being in jail that bad to escape.
