Woman Charged With Killing At Wilmington Homeless Camp

Authorities say a 38-year-old woman faces a second-degree murder charge after a man was found dead at a camp for homeless people in Wilmington.

Investigators said they were called to the camp around 7 p.m. Friday after paramedics found 43-year-old Richard Partello III dead.

Police say witnesses told officers that Johanna Leitch was fighting with Partello before he was killed.

Investigators aren't releasing a reason the two were fighting or a cause of death for Partello, although paramedics said he suffered multiple external wounds.

Leitch is being held at the New Hanover County jail without bond. It wasn't clear if she had an attorney.

Shoot, I came from Greenville to Minot, ND and even Mcdonalds and such places pay upwards of 13.00/hr. You can get a job in the oil field with no HS diploma or GED( know someone with a 9th grade education) that makes $80,000/yr checking pressure gauges on oil rigs. They are soooooooooo desperate for people to work here. They have to close some fast food places at 8pm bc not enough help. Crazy the rest of the world is hurting so bad.

how can anyone in this country or state for that matter work whe all of the decent paying jobs an mostly all forms of employment have been outsourced to foreign country by the coporate instresrt . thatis unless you are willing to flip burgers of $3.25 p/hr or so remendial type of job . but all the real jobs have been intentionaly outsourced to foreiogn enitys by the coporate insterst in order for them to save a few pennies on their bottom line an then they have got the nerve to holler about worker in this coutry wanting a decent working an liveable wage an not some third world coutry wage. that is what this whole ecomonic thing/ recession has been all about in the first place is the suppression of american workers wages just to favor the richest coporate intrest an special instrest by the repbulcan party acorss this land to forc american worker in to a third world ecomony for the benefit of the coporate insterst an the repbulican party an their buddy's thank you

Question? Why do such camps of this kind exist in the first place is the number one question i feel that should be ask here. there is absoultely no reason in the richest nation in the world that the existience of this kinds of camps should even be in existence in the first place where are the jobs, healthcare, worker rights, civil rights an human right in such cases as these . i do relized that mental illiness is a probably issue in a lot of these cases but why arent the mentaly ill being an reciving treatments to prevent such issues form ever arrising in the first place. the republicn party in this country have stripped the protection of health care mental health care treaatment healt care under these repbulcian an their insurance buddys have sored to way to high an expensive forthe average working person in this state an this country. i say vote them all out of office come 2012 thank you

Sounds like there are are alot of homophobia going on here. That has nothing to do with the story. By the way what would you do if your child was gay? Nothing to say now is there?

I recently heard a professional say the whole sex choices thing was a combo of some genetics and alot of lifestyle choices. Just like the Lowes story. Hate breeds hate. If children grow into thinking it is "OK" the lifestyles will continue. Hate breeds hate etc. My children have grown in a family environment of marriage to my wife now 30 years with tiffs. No outright fist to fist but calm discussions and some were not so calm. So if my child were gay as you ask it would be because their circle of friends had them convinced it is cool. Much like a drug dealer gets new customers. So yeah I will continue to "hate" the lifestyle. BUT "Will" love as guided the individual.

She went out of her way to get to him. I don't care what degree murder she has been charged with. If convicted; she took a life. If found guilty it is time for her to give up her own. "swiftly".

wilmignton is full of sick people from all over this sick country.I will never go back to that area again to work. You cant even walk through the malls there without your kids seeing the same gender tongue kissing and touching each other on private parts. That is an A#1 sick city.If you have kids and love them like I do mine stay away from that area.

Lots of Cal. imports since they opened up the studio there. Lots of fruits & nuts from So-Cal moved here and I guess they couldn't afford the plane ticket back. Now they're infecting that area. Isn't the Gay culture facinating?
