A woman is recovering from a shark bite that happened in the water off of a North Carolina beach.
According to police in Holden Beach, 63-year-old Barbara Corey of Supply in Brunswick County was bitten on the foot by a shark Thursday afternoon. She was standing in water between three and four feet deep when she felt the bite. Police say she started thrashing in the water before making her way to shore for help.
Corey was hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
There's no word on what type of shark bit her.
