Kinston Church To Re-Open After Fire

The congregation at a church in the east is headed back to its sanctuary following a fire earlier this year.

It's been seven months since a fire left hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage to the "Called To Conquer Church of Christ" in Kinston.

Pastor Clay Aycock says it's been a long seven months but he's excited to get back in the sanctuary Sunday.

Aycock says the fire, which was electrical in nature, may have actually been a blessing in disguise. He says as the engineer was surveying the damage -- he found severe structural damage that occurred before the fire, and could've been deadly.

Aycock says he's grateful they now have a new building and that everything is safe.
