Police in a North Carolina coastal city are seeking information that will help solve the shooting of a teenager near a heavily traveled downtown intersection.
The Wilmington Star-News reports that 17-year-old Tyshawn L. Gause of Wilmington was the city's first homicide this year. Gause was shot about midnight Saturday and died about 12 hours later in a hospital.
Police have knocked on doors in the neighborhood seeking anyone who may have heard shots. Officers also have talked to the victim's family about any enemies the teen may have had.
