Three Eastern Carolina cities set new record low temperatures Thursday morning, while a fourth tied a record.
Greenville shattered its old 1966 record low for this date with a 5 degree reading. The previous record low was 9 degrees.
Kinston got down to 7 degrees, breaking the previous record of 8, also set in 1966.
Washington also had a new record low for this day, seeing 11 degrees. The old record was 16, set in 2010.
And New Bern tied its record low of 19, set in 2000.
Greenville finally broke out of the sub-freezing temperatures this afternoon. Temperatures were below freezing there for nearly 60 hours.
Tonight, lows will be in 20s.
