Three people are accused of breaking into a church and cracking open a safe that was inside.
Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith says last Thursday Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church and Christian Academy reported the breaking and entering. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from a safe and a church van stolen.
Through interviews and evidence, deputies were able to recover the stolen property and make three arrests.
25-year-old Steven Woods and 16-year-old Dexter Duncan have been charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle, safecracking, and conspiracy. 17-year-old Ta'vein Joyner has been charged with safecracking and conspiracy. All three are from the Snow Hill area.
Deputies say two underage teens have also been charged, while their investigation is ongoing.
