Ayden Teen Wanted In Family Armed Robbery

Lawmen in Lenoir County are looking for a teenager who they say helped rob a family at gunpoint.

Walter Cooley, who last lived in Ayden, is wanted for the November 27th robbery on Hugo Church Road. Deputies say the 16-year-old Cooley and five others robbed the family of four at gunpoint.

Deputies in December got a warrant charging Cooley with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy. They say he is considered armed and dangerous.

If anyone has information on Cooley’s whereabouts, please contact the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office at 252-559-6140, Lenoir County Crimestoppers at 252-523-4444, Greenville/Pitt County Crimestoppers at 252-758-7777 or if after hours or weekends contact the Lenoir County 911 Center at 252-559-6112.

Sounds like you are the idiot. Would you be taking up for him if he waved a gun in your face and threatened you and your family along with those other so-called "misguided" thugs?

This story is obviously made-up and completely fake. It is against Federal and NC law for a person under the age of 18 to possess a handgun without adult supervision, and it is against the law for anyone under 18 to carry a handgun in NC. Since everyone knows that "gun control" laws work, there is simply no way this story happened as it is being reported. Please, WITN, when will you stop publishing these made-up "news" stories?

"Lawmen"? Come on WITN this isn't 1950... This term is an insult to all women who work in law enforcement.

Adam, You must not work in law enforcement, because MOST the women you talk about are an insult to the men working in law enforcement. Dont get me wrong, there are a few good ones, but most just want to try to prove they can do the work when they just can't.

I think a writer should be free to express themselves as colorfully as they wish. Using old-time terms & phrases makes reading fun. I'd be dissapointed if everyone used the same terms for everything. The word "Lawmen" (although gender biased) can cover lots of ground if you're not sure if the arresting/reporting officers are HP, Sheriff or city cops (or ECU's Keystone clowns)...see, I just did it, making FUN of ECU security officers. Now you're gonna tell me THAT wasn't funny?

Get over it. It's a generic term. Deal with it.
