Troopers say a man who ran a red light this morning has died in that crash.
Dead is 60-year-old Daniel Brown of Chinquapin. The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 11 and Tyree Road, south of Kinston.
Troopers say the man ran the light and struck another vehicle driven by 83-year-old Margaret Hardy of Kinston. She was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries, while Brown died at Lenoir Memorial.
The Highway Patrol says both drivers were wearing their seat-belts.
