At least two accidents happened this morning on Highway 11 in Lenoir County as the area was covered in thick fog.
The first accident happened south of the railroad tracks at Graingers around 8:00 a.m.
Troopers said a motorcyclist was injured in the wreck and emergency workers could not land a helicopter to take him to the hospital because it was too foggy. That man was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville by ambulance, according to troopers.
A few minutes later the second accident happened which involved a fire truck that was heading to the first crash.
Troopers say a car heading south on Highway 11 did not yield to the emergency vehicle and that driver will be charged.
The two people in the car were taken to Vidant with minor injuries.
