Shots Fired During Attempted Store Hold-Up

Police are searching for a gunman after shots were fired during an attempted convenience store hold-up last night.

Kinston police say it happened around 10:25 p.m. at the Spinx convenience store on North Queen Street.

Police say the gunman first fired a shot through the ceiling while demanding money, and then fired a round through a plate glass window in the front of the store.

No one was injured and police say the would-be robber didn't get any cash.

The gunman is described as a black man, approximately 5'7" tall, weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information should call Kinston police at 252-939-3220.
