UPDATE: Silver Alert Cancelled For Missing Lenoir County Man

A Silver Alert has been cancelled for a missing man in Lenoir County.

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office says that 72-year-old James Ferguson was found safely.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the subject of a Silver Alert in our state.

Officials say that they are looking for 72-year-old James Ferguson of Hornpipe Road in Deep Run.

Sheriff Chris Hill says that Ferguson is suffering from dementia and may not have taken his medications. We’re told that Ferguson has a history of walking away from his home.

Ferguson stands at 6’3’’ weighing 240 pounds, and has white hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, green shirt with a brown patch on the shoulder, a white ball cap, and brown boots. It’s believed he left his home walking on Hornpipe Road.

Officials say that Ferguson has indicated that he wants to go to Jacksonville in Onslow County, South Carolina, or Mississippi.

If you have any information on Ferguson’s whereabouts, you’re asked to call 911.
