An elderly woman was scammed out of her money this afternoon with the promise to make some fast cash.
Kinston police say the victim was initially approached around 3:00 p.m. by a woman at the Caswell Center, with a promise of a way to double her money.
They say the victim then got into the car with the woman and they went to the Vernon Park Mall. In the parking lot they met up with a second woman and police say they instructed the victim to go inside the Wells Fargo and withdraw the cash.
The two women took the cash and told the victim they were going to double it and return with her money. They never came back.
The victim ended up call police who say right now they have no leads on the identify of the women or exactly home much money was taken.
