Police are investigating two home invasions in Kinston that happened within 20 minutes of each other. A shot was fired in the second invasion.
Kinston police say around 12:10 a.m. they got a report of the first home invasion on Larkspur Road. Nicole Green told officers four black men forced their way into her home and made everyone to lay down on the living room floor. Three children and another adult were at home at the time.
One of the robbers was armed with a shotgun, while the others had handguns. They took a pair of tennis shoes and two cell phones.
About twenty minutes later there was a report of a second home invasion on East Blount Street, about two miles away. In that invasion, at least three black men forced their way in through the front door.
Police say a man armed with a shotgun fired one round into the floor. They got away with some cash and a pistol.
Police say no one was injured in either home invasion and right now there is no evidence to link the two.
