Fayetteville -- The Plymouth boys basketball team and the Kinston girls team won semifinal games Friday night to advance to the finals of the Eastern Regional Tournament.
Plymouth beat East Carteret 67-64. Carl McCray scored 20 points for the Vikings and Adrian Moore scored 19.
East Carteret's Matthew Collins hit 3 three-pointers and led all scorers with 24 points.
Plymouth will play for the right to head to the 1-A state title game Saturday at 6pm.
As for the Kinston girls, they join the schools boys team in the 2-A Eastern Regional Finals.
Kinston's Tisha Dixon scored 16 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in the victory. Teammate Brittany Drumgoole also scored 16 points.
Kinston's regional final game will also take place Saturday at 6pm in Fayetteville.
