Pizza Delivery Vehicle Hit By Gunfire During Robbery

A pizza delivery driver was robbed and his vehicle hit by gunfire Monday night in Kinston.

Police say around 9:30 p.m. an officer was flagged down by Jason Cogdell. He told police he was robbed by two men at the intersection of North Orion and Macon Streets.

Cogdell says he was attempting to deliver Papa John's pizza to what turned out to be a vacant building on North Orion when the robbers took the pizza as well as his money. During the robbery one of the men fired his gun into the delivery driver's vehicle. No one was injured.

So far no one has been arrested in the robbery.

If I owned or ran Pizza Dely. Service,I would target specific areas where no deliverys will be attempted. No matter what. Then wait for the NAACP scream. Then invite them to go on ride alongs.See what they say.

Great picture. Wouldn't it have made more sense to show a pizza delivery car, a pizza sign, or even a pizza.. than a police car? Was the delivery guy driving a police cruiser? What it is with pizza: Vulnerability. Someone that actually comes to a location when you call for them, and is likely carrying cash, is an easy victim. Ask anyone that has done that job. I wouldn't want to walk up to stranger's doors in the dark.

More losers robbing people because they can't take care of themselves... pathetic... they probably think they are so clever ordering a pizza to a vacant building. If they would only put the same effort into getting an education and/or a job!!!!!!

What is it with pizza? Are they putting crack in pizza? Last week a law enforcement officer throws career away by using someone else’s credit card to buy pizza and now robbing the pizza delivery guy. These guys will be sorry when they get the munchies and can’t get pizza because no one wants to deliver.
