Police in one Eastern Carolina city say they have arrested a man who they say shot another man in the foot on Monday.
Kinston police caught up with Donte Cotton on Tuesday, charging him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
They say around 12:30 p.m. Monday officers went to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for a person shot call. Donald Sutton told officers he was in the parking area of King Supermarket on South Adkin Street when he was approached by Cotton. Sutton said after the man tried to hit him, Cotton pulled out a gun and shot him in the right foot.
