POLICE: Man Picks Up Wallet Left Behind With $250 Inside

Police say they need the public's help in identifying a man they say stole another man's wallet that was left behind at a convenience store.

On May 14th the victim accidentally left his wallet behind on the counter at the Kangaroo Express on West Vernon Avenue in Kinston while he filled out a money order.

About 15 minutes later a man walked in the store and bought a soft drink, picking up the wallet in the process. Police say there was $250 inside.

The man appears to be a heavy set man wearing a visor cap and sunglasses around his neck. He was wearing a dark tee shirt, denim pants and brown boots. He also has numerous visible tattoos on both arms and was driving a white Ford F-150 pick-up with a tool box in the truck's bed.

Anyone who knows who the man is should call Kinston police at 252-939-3220.
